Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (4-0) swept their second straight doubleheader in as many weeks on Sunday afternoon. The Ospreys downed Norwich (2-2) by scores of 10-4 and 12-2, with
John Perrino (Wall/Wall) leading the Ospreys offense with five hits and four runs on the day.
Stockton started strong in game one as the Ospreys pounded the Cadets for eight runs and nine hits in the first two innings of the day for a commanding 8-0 lead after two frames.

Evan Geisler (Lodi/Lodi),
Rico Viani (Monroe Twp./Monroe Twp.),
Brandan Gomez (Jersey City/Ferris) and a pair by
Ryan Mihlebach (Clarksboro/GCIT) accounted for the early runs in the five run first inning.
Ryan Swift (Sewell/Washington Twp.), Mihlebach and
Andrew Slinger (Tinton Falls/Monmouth) drove in runs for three more markers in the second frame. The Cadets plated three runs in the top of the fifth to cut the margin to 9-3, but Stockton held off the visitors in the 10-4 first game win.
Viani picked up his first win of the season, with three scoreless and hitless innings, while fanning five hitters.
The Ospreys had a tougher time in the nightcap until breaking the game open over the final three frames. The Cadets held a 2-1 lead going into the bottom half of the fourth inning, before Stockton exploded for 11 runs over the final three innings.
Stockton plated a run on an error and an RBI by
Jay Marchese (East Brunswick/East Brunswick) to give the home team a 3-2 advantage after four frames. Five more runs in the fifth inning, highlighted by a
Garrett DeMarrais (Oradell/River Dell) two RBI single pushed the margin to 8-2.
Stockton salted the game away in the bottom of the sixth on Marchese's third RBI of the contest, and RBI by DeMarrais and freshman
Frank Bellezza made it 12-2. It was Bellezza's first career hit and RBI.
Freshman
Mike Schiattarella (Manahawkin/Southern Regional) tossed three innings in relief for the win. The rookie did not allow a hit or run and struck out three in his Osprey debut.
Stockton scored 22 runs and pounded out 26 hits on the day. Viani added four hits, two runs and two RBI, with Mihlebach, Marchese and DeMarrais driving in three runs each.
Stockton's next game will be against Wesley College on Tuesday in a single game for the Ospreys next tilt. First pitch is scheduled for 2:30 pm in Galloway.
