Galloway, N.J. – As the Fall 2020 semester begins at Stockton University, Osprey student-athletes are being encouraged to be socially responsible and help stop the spread of COVID-19. The hope is that Stockton's nearly 400 student-athletes will be at the forefront of modeling appropriate behavior in the face of the current pandemic.
Stockton student-athletes have the opportunity to be leaders in the effort to keep the campus community safe by following the guidelines of the Osprey Affirmation:
Osprey Affirmation
To insure the safety and health of my teammates and coaches and to set an example for the campus community, I affirm that Stockton University has established COVID-19 behavioral guidance, expectations, and directives for best practices for safely returning to campus and that this information has been communicated to me along with the associative consequences for non-compliance.
Further, I affirm that I will:
- Comply with The Soar Safely Ospreys principles of "Mask Up, Back Up, and Wash Up"
- Take the daily Stockton University Health Pledge
- Abide by the University COVID-19 Plan and the prohibitions regarding Large Group Gatherings and other University Directives and Policies
Fall sport competitions were canceled for all New Jersey Athletic Conference institutions, however teams will be allowed to practice provided they follow state, CDC and NCAA protocols. Although the situation is fluid, it is hoped that Stockton and other NCAA athletic programs will begin competing again in January.
Adhering to the philosophy of the Osprey Affirmation hopefully will help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 at Stockton and help clear an expedient path to getting the student-athletes back in action as safely and as quickly as possible.
MASK UP! BACK UP! WASH UP!
