Waterford, Conn. – Stockton University traveled to New England for the Connecticut College Invitational on Sunday. In a talented field that featured eight nationally-ranked teams, the Osprey women's squad placed 17th out of 26 in the Caroline Grape '22 Memorial Blue Race.
Kierstin Clem (Voorhees/Eastern) was the top finisher for the Ospreys as she placed 84th out of 196 runners with a time of 24:22.7 that was a personal best for six kilometers. Freshman
Marlee Tharp (Tuckerton/Pinelands) also notched a personal best of 24:26.7 for 89th place.
Jessie Klenk (Somerdale/Sterling) ran 24:36.7 for 102nd place followed by
Jamie Wun (Moorestown/Moorestown) as the next Stockton finisher in the 109th spot at 24:46.4.
Olivia Harris (Sammamish, Wash./Eastlake) was the fifth Osprey in 115th place with a time of 24:54.9.
The Stockton men's team finished 10th out of 19 teams in the 8K White Race.
Sam Tenenbaum (Monroe Twp./Monroe Twp.) led the Ospreys in 30th position out of 207 runners at the 27:11.9 mark.
Stephen Conte (Washington Twp./Paul VI) placed 38th with a time of 27:20.3.
Brandon Shymanski (Brick/Brick Memorial) was the third Stockton runner across the finish line as he clocked 27:52.8 for 67th place.
Clayton Engle (Jackson/Jackson Memorial) finished 104th with a time of 28:38.4 and
Dan Squicciarini (Flemington/Hunterdon Central) was the final Stockton scorer in 118th place at 29:10.3.
The Ospreys will take the next two weeks to prepare for the NJAC Championships, which will be held on the Stockton campus on October 30 at 10:30 a.m.
