Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University (8-8, 1-5 NJAC) stayed right with fifth-ranked Kean University (18-1, 5-1) through regulation and two overtimes but was denied in its bid for a huge upset as the Cougars prevailed 3-2 in a shootout.

Freshman
Alexandria Palumbo (Mantua/Clearview) continued her torrid scoring pace with two more goals. Palumbo finished with seven goals in her last seven games of the season, including at least one marker in six of the seven contests.

Stockton got off to a great start as Palumbo swept in a backhand shot off an assist by fellow rookie
Autumn Hunter (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton Area) to give the Ospreys a 1-0 lead just 5:23 into the game.
Makenna LeHenaff (Burlington/Burlington Twp.), another freshman, made a defensive save in the opening period to keep the Cougars scoreless.

Kean eventually broke through for the tying goal as Lia DiPiazza scored with just 31 seconds left in the second quarter. The Cougars went ahead 2-1 on a tally by Megan Keeney, the cousin of Stockton's
Katie Keeney (Tuckerton/Pinelands), with 5:20 gone in the third stanza.

Stockton tied the game with 2:43 remaining the period as Palumbo took a pass from
Madison Dancisin (Little Egg Harbor/Pinelands) and fired a blast through traffic for her second tally of the game and a 2-2 deadlock. The teams went scoreless for the last 17 minutes of regulation and the game went to overtime.

Both teams had quality scoring chances in overtime. Two cards on Kean early in the first OT gave Stockton an opportunity, including a brief two-player advantage, but the Ospreys were unable to capitalize.

Gianna Morganti (Berlin/St. Joseph) was assessed a 10-minute yellow card late in the first overtime that overlapped into the second OT, however Stockton was able to survive the disadvantage. Overall, the teams combined for 11 shots and eight corners in extra time, but no goals were scored.

Morganti was the lone Osprey to convert her attempt in the best-of-five shootout while DiPiazza and Peyton Mann found the net for Kean to stave off the upset try in what goes down as a 3-2 setback for Stockton.

Ospreys' goaltender
Alley Harris (Mullica Hill/Delsea) made a career-high 16 saves in the last game of her rookie year.

The Ospreys finished the season with an 8-8 record that was highlighted by a five-game winning streak to open the campaign in early September.
