Mahwah, NJ – Stockton University (4-4, 2-1 NJAC) rallied late in the game to pull off a 75-71 win over Ramapo College (4-2, 1-2 NJAC) on Saturday afternoon. Freshman
Madison LaRosa (Oceanport/Shore Regional) led three Ospreys in double figures with a career-high 28 points.

Ramapo came out of the gate quickly, starting on an 8-0 run to begin the game and shooting 7-11 (63.6%) overall in forging a 20-13 lead after one period. Stockton shot just 31.6 % (6-19) but was able to close the margin on five points by
Emma Morrone (Maywood/Hackensack) and four markers by
Nalya Hill (Bloomfield/DePaul Catholic).

The Roadrunners cooled off in period number two and allowed the Ospreys to creep closer in the game. Trailing 30-17 with 5:38 left in the half, Stockton ripped off 15 of the next 19 points to slice the Ramapo lead to 34-32 at the break.

Four points by
Jaiden Harris (Lindenwold/Our Lady of Mercy) and three baskets from behind the arc by LaRosa spurred the Ospreys. The Osprey defense held Ramapo to just 4-14 (28.6%) shooting in the period to help the visitors back into the match.

The Ospreys picked up in the third quarter where they left off, tying the game at 34-34 on a
Grace Sacco (Ocean City/Ocean City) layup. With the contest knotted at 39-39, the Roadrunners ripped off 10 straight points to take a 58-48 margin heading into the final stanza.

Ramapo pushed the advantage to 60-53 before Stockton sliced the lead to one at 60-59. Two points each by LaRosa, Sacco and Hill brought Stockton back. The Ospreys then took over the game with four minutes left in regulation. With the game in favor of Ramapo at 65-60, LaRosa scored nine straight points to give the Ospreys the lead at 69-65 with 2:08 remaining.

The Roadrunners drew within two at 69-67, when Sacco made a layup and foul shot.
Ionyonia Alves followed that up with one of two at the line, before LaRosa sealed the game, with nine seconds left, hitting a pair from the charity stripe to finalize the 75-71 victory.

LaRosa was efficient in her 28-point game, hitting 7-9 from the field, including 5-7 from behind the arc and 9-11 from the foul line. Sacco posted career bests at Stockton with 13 points and nine rebounds, to go with a game-high six assists, while playing all 40 minutes. Harris also scored a career-best 10 points and grabbed a personal high of eight rebounds in just 14 minutes of play.

Ramapo was led by Olivia Johnstone and Jada Thompson with 17 points each, with Thompson grabbing a game-high 10 boards and dishing five assists. Shannon Burns added 12 markers.

Stockton will return home for their next contest as the Ospreys will face The College of New Jersey on Wednesday night. Tip off is scheduled for 6 pm.
