Mahwah, NJ – Stockton University (0-2, 0-2 NJAC) went down to defeat for the second straight match, as Ramapo College (1-0-1, 1-0-1 NJAC) took a 3-1 decision on Saturday afternoon.
Ian Byrne (Lanoka Harbor/Lacey Twp.) scored his first career goal fort the Ospreys in the loss.

The home team got on the board, just over 10 minutes into the match for a 1-0 lead. The Ospreys tried to knot the game but a header by
Michael Echeverria (Linden/St. Joseph's), with 34 seconds left on the half, was knocked away and the Roadrunners had the one goal margin at the half.

It took Byrne just 4:26 to notch his first goal of his Stockton career to forge a 1-1 tie. The sophomore was able to slip his shot under the Ramapo netminder for the score.

Unfortunately for Stockton, that lasted less than three minutes, as the Roadrunners tallied the eventual game winner from 25 yards out for the 2-1 margin. In the 88th minute, Ramapo added the insurance tally to set the final score at 3-1.

Stockton played tough throughout the contest, as Ramapo held a slim 6-4 advantage on shots on net.
Dino Gromitsaris (Bordentown/Bordentown) made three saves in net for the Ospreys, while Joshua Schaffer earned the win for Ramapo with a three save effort.

Stockton will play on the road for the second straight match on Wednesday for their next tilt. The Ospreys will face Kean in Union, NJ for a 7:30 pm start.
