Galloway, N.J. – A pair of Stockton University seniors were selected NJAC weekly awards for March 15-21.
Cooper Knorr (Manalapan/Manalapan) was chosen NJAC Runner of the Week in men's cross country and
Dino Gromitsaris (Bordentown/Bordentown) was selected NJAC Defensive Player of the Week in men's soccer.
Knorr won the men's race at the NJAC Championships on Saturday to become Stockton's second NJAC champion ever, joining 2010 winner Abad Akhtar. The senior won the 8K race by 21 seconds with a personal-best time of 25:33.2 for his second consecutive victory of the season.
Knorr helped Stockton to a second-place finish at the NJAC Championships and collected his second NJAC Runner of the Week accolade of the season.
Gromitsaris posted a pair of 1-0 shutouts last week to help the Ospreys even their record at 2-2. The senior kicked out five shots against Kean then followed that up by making one save on the only shot on goal that he faced against Rutgers-Camden. The clean sheets boosted his career total to nine shutouts.
For the season, Gromitsaris leads the NJAC in shutouts (2) and saves (15). He ranks third in the conference in goals against average (1.00) and fourth in save percentage (.789). Gromitsaris earned his third career selection as the NJAC Defensive Player of the Week.
