Galloway, NJ - The Stockton University field hockey team qualified for an
NFHCA Division III National Academic Team Award from the National Field Hockey Coaches Association. In order to be recognized teams must have produced a grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the Fall 2020 semester.

Stockton earned the NFHCA National Academic Team Award for the 10th consecutive year and 15th time in the last 17 seasons. The Ospreys were one of 147 NCAA Division III teams in the nation to qualify for the distinction. All seven NJAC teams made the list.

The National Academic Team Award comes on the heels of several NFHCA individual academic honors earned by the Ospreys and announced over the last two weeks.

Last week, Stockton players
Issy Gilhooley (Ocean City/Ocean City),
Kelsey Andrus (Mays Landing/Oakcrest),
Lainie Allegretto (Ocean City/Ocean City),
Lauryn Flynn (Warren Grove/Southern Regional) and
Kylie Mitchell (Shamong/Seneca) were recognized as NFHCA Scholars of Distinction for recording cumulative grade point averages of 3.90 or higher.

Those five players headlined a list of 13 Ospreys who qualified for the NFHCA National Academic Squad with cumulative GPAs of 3.30 or higher through the fall semester. Stockton has played three games during this abbreviated Spring 2020 season. The NJAC Tournament is slated to begin on April 6.
