Stockton Rolls 32-4 in Home Opener

Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University (2-1, 2-0 CSAC) opened up a 9-1 lead in the first quarter and rolled to a 32-4 victory over Centenary (0-3, 0-3 CSAC) in the home opener for the Ospreys. Eighteen different Stockton players scored goals in the win.

Luc Swedlund (Randolph/Randolph) and Jackson Tilves (Mt. Olive/Mt. Olive) led the Ospreys with four goals apiece. Swedlund brought his career point total to 199, putting him on the cusp of becoming the sixth Stockton player to reach the 200-point mark.

Tilves, a junior, played his first college game two years after missing his freshman season while fighting cancer. Tilves beat the disease and returned to the squad last year but didn't play in any of the team's six games. His four goals today were the first of his career.

Joey Tiernan (Voorhees/Eastern) finished with three goals and three assists for a game-high six points. Sean Haddock (Hightstown/Hightstown) pumped in three goals followed by Eric D'Arminio (Roxbury/Roxbury), Dante Poli (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks South) and Patrick Dunleavy (Medford/Bishop Eustace) with two goals and an assist apiece.

Sophomore Michael Cavallo (Monroe Twp./Monroe Twp.) and freshmen Colin Hopkins (Sprinfield, Pa./Springfield-Delco), Hayden Smallwood (Margate/Ocean City) and Lucas Novack (Rockaway/Morris Hills) all scored their first career goal in the rout. Hopkins finished with two markers.

Starting goalie Eric Lindskog (Montville/Montville) made one save in the first half to earn the win. Freshman Colin Bernstein (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks South) notched two stops in the third quarter followed by Thomas Sullivan (Morristown/Morristown) with three saves in the fourth period.

Centenary goalie JT Doyle was impressive despite the outcome as he finished with 34 saves while facing 66 shots on goal in a busy afternoon between the pipes. Brandon Casey scored twice for the Cyclones.

Up next, Stockton will travel to Kean on Wednesday for a CSAC game that begins at 7 p.m.
