Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University hosted a track meet at G. Larry James Stadium for the second consecutive Friday. The Ospreys won eight events, four men's and four women's. Other teams that competed included Fordham, Montclair State, Rutgers-Camden, Gwynedd Mercy, New Jersey City, Monroe College and Rowan College-Gloucester County.
The Ospreys swept the pole vault, 400m hurdles and high jump. In the pole vault,
Keith Holland (Bayville/Central Regional) was the men's winner (4.70m) and
Lauren Preston (Wernersville, Pa./Conrad Weiser) was the women's winner (3.35m).
The 400m hurdles were won by
Kevin Simpson (Sewell/Washington Twp.) for the men (59.22 seconds) and
Erin Cannon (Howell/Howell) for the women (1:09.05).
Susann Foley (Tabernacle/Seneca) won the women's high jump (1.60m) and
Hunter Daly (Florence/Florence) won the men's high jump (1.90m).
Jenna Walker (Barnegat/Barnegat) took the women's 200m (27.90 seconds) while the quartet of
Jalen Allen (Monroe Twp./Monroe Twp.),
Ian Adjangba (Howell/Howell),
Luis Rivera-Turell (Egg Harbor Twp./EHT) and
Ryan Fisher (Barnegat/Barnegat) won the men's 4x100 relay (44.64 seconds).
Rivera-Turell, Fisher, Simpson and
Matthew Keidat (Margate/Holy Spirit) finished second in the 4x400 relay (3:34.86).
Darren Wan (Egg Harbor Twp./EHT) broke his own school record from last week and placed second in the hammer throw (55.05m). Wan was the runner-up in the discus (40.36m) as well.
Second-place finishes also were claimed by
Chris Johnson (Wildwood Crest/Wildwood Catholic) in the 3000m steeplechase (11:08.02),
Shelton Sainvil (Roebling-Florence/Florence) in the javelin (52.81m),
William Gross (Marlton/Cherokee) in the shot put (13.57m) and
Matthew Carter (Mays Landing/Oakcrest) in the pole vault (4.25m).
Three Stockton women were runners-up in an event. They were
Shahyan Abraham (Orange/Orange) in the shot put (12.38m),
Madison Fey in the pole vault (Easton, Pa/Freedom) and
Charlotte Leon (Northport, N.Y.) in the discus (33.47m).
Stockton will be on the road for the first time this season when the Ospreys head to West Chester University next Saturday, April 10 for the Bill Butler Invitational starting at 11 a.m.
