West Windsor, N.J. – Stockton University recorded its best finish ever at the Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference Championship by placing second at the regatta, which was held on Mercer Lake. The Ospreys' previous best was third in the 2019 MARC Championship, which was the last time the conference crowned a champion (2020 canceled due to COVID).
Stockton finished third in the final of the varsity eight with a time of 7:14.42. The Ospreys were narrowly edged out of second place by Marietta with a margin of just 1.31 seconds.
Earlier, Stockton had advanced to the final with the second-fastest time in the heats, a mark of 7:31.50 that was 1.8 seconds ahead of Marietta, but the Pioneers turned the tables in the final.
Lorelei Hendricks (Burlington/Doane Academy) was the coxswain for the varsity eight.

Emily Thompson (Manahawkin/Southern Regional), Stockton finished as the runner-up out of four teams in the second varsity eight with a time of 7:55.69. Both eight races were won by Washington College (Md.), which is ranked 10th in NCAA Division III and won the overall MARC team championship for the eighth consecutive time.

The Ospreys also rowed in the novice four, posting a time of 9:46.94 that placed them third behind Franklin & Marshall and Cabrini.
Kelley Mason (Manahattan, N.Y./St. Vincent Ferrer) was the coxswain for the novice four.
Marcella Sacchetti (Staten Island, N.Y./Absegami (N.J.)),
Allison Reed (Cherry Hill/CH East),
Emily Latshaw (Toms River/TR South) and Mary-Rose Kean (Watervliet, N.Y./Padua Academy (Del.)) were the rowers in the novice four.
Stockton is scheduled to compete next in the famous Dad Vail Regatta on the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia on May 8.
