Galloway, N.J. – After finishing the season on a high note with a strong performance at the Dad Vail Regatta, Stockton University moved up to 14th in the latest
Pocock CRCA Division III poll presented by U.S. Rowing. The ranking is the highest ever for Stockton, which entered the poll for the first time in school history this season.
The poll is administered by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association. The Ospreys received votes on April 21 and 28, entered the numbered rankings at 15th on May 5 and moved up one spot to 14th this week.
The step up comes on the heels of medals in all three events in which Stockton rowed at the Dad Vails on May 8. The Ospreys won the program's first-ever gold in the Division III varsity eight and added bronze medals in the Division II/III varsity four and novice eight.
Stockton placed second at the Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference Championships on April 25, just eight points behind MARC champ Washington College (Md.), which received an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Rowing Championship by winning the conference title.
All six teams that will compete in the NCAA Championship are ranked 10th or higher in this week's Pocock CRCA poll. Stockton will continue its quest for the program's first NCAA berth next season.
