Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University teammates
Erik Anderson (Monroe Twp./Monroe Twp.) and
Eric Ellis (Voorhees/Eastern) took the field one final time as the pair played in the
United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Senior All-Star Game on May 28.
Anderson and Ellis saw action for the South team in the game, which was held at Roger Williams University (R.I.). The South squad featured players from New Jersey, Pennsylvania and states further south while the North team, which won 17-3, consisted of players primarily from New York and New England.
Anderson and Ellis came back to play a fifth year this spring due to an NCAA rule that granted an extra year of eligibility after the 2020 season was shortened by the COVID-19 pandemic. Anderson played a total of 70 games in his five years as an Osprey (2017-2021), two of which included reduced schedules because of COVID.
Anderson finished his career third in Stockton history in assists (112), fifth in points (225) and eighth in goals (113). He set a school record with 54 assists in 2019 and also posted the second-highest point total in the program's history with 115 that year. Anderson was selected CSAC First Team in 2019 and CSAC Second Team this spring.
Ellis also had a college career that spanned five years (2017-2021), four of which were played at Stockton. In 52 games as an Osprey, the midfielder totaled 82 goals and 44 assists for 126 points. He was chosen USILA All-America Honorable Mention and CSAC First Team this spring as well as CSAC Second Team and USILA Scholar All-American in 2019.
Prior to his arrival at Stockton, Ellis played six games and scored one goal as a freshman at Salisbury in 2017. He was a member of a Sea Gulls team that won the NCAA championship that year.
