Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University won the women's NJAIAW Championship in a field of 12 teams and finished fourth out of 13 in the men's Osprey Open on Stockton's home course.
Kierstin Clem (Voorhees/Eastern) and
Brandon Shymanski (Brick/Brick Memorial) were the top finishers for the Ospreys.
Clem led a group of three Stockton runners in the top 10 by placing fourth out of 129 racers with a time of 24:41.81 for 6K.
Jamie Wun (Moorestown/Moorestown) ran 24:57.60 for seventh place followed by freshman
Marlee Tharp (Tuckerton/Pinelands) in ninth at 25:05.53.
Olivia Harris (Sammamish, Wash./Eastlake) finished 12th with a time of 25:24.07 and freshman
Abigail Webb (Blackwood/Highland) rounded out Stockton's five scoring runners in 16th place three seconds later at 25:27.99.
Shymanski finished 12th out of 132 runners in the men's 8K race with a time of 26:42.71 to lead the Ospreys. Freshman
Erik Ackerman (Long Valley/West Morris Central) crossed the finish line at 26:57.04 for 17th place.
Stephen Conte (Washington Twp./Paul VI) covered the course in 27:10.56 for 24th place followed by teammate
Sam Tenenbaum (Monroe Twp./Monroe Twp.) in 25th place with a time of 27:15.05.
Zach Greenberg (Hightstown/Hightstown) completed Stockton group of five counters in 31st place at 28:03.09.
Ramapo won the men's race followed by West Chester in second and Jefferson in the third spot.
Stockton will compete again next Saturday, traveling north for the NJIT Challenge on October 2 at 11 a.m.
