Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University (15-6) extended its winning streak to eight with two victories in a tri-match at The Sports Center. The Ospreys swept Hunter 3-0 and then topped Manhattanville 3-1.
Haley Green (Springville, Utah/Maple Mountain) and
Kate Louer (Clifton/Clifton) powered the offense past Hunter with 15 and 14 kills respectively.
Jaylah Rolle (Williamstown/Williamstown) contributed five kills and a match-high four aces.
Setters
Aubrey Rentzel (York, Pa./Central York) and
Regan Mendick (Newark, Del./Red Lion Christian) handed out 17 and 16 assists respectively.
Molly Eng (New Providence/New Providence) led the back row with a match-high 11 digs.
Louer pounded six kills to spark the Ospreys to a 25-19 win in the opening set. Green tallied seven kills on eight attacks in the second set, which Stockton won 25-22. Green added five more kills and Rolle served three aces in the third set as the Ospreys closed out the match 25-16.
Green led three Ospreys in double figures against Manhattanville with 16 kills. Freshmen Louer and
Camille De La Torre (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) registered 13 and 11 kills respectively. Rentzel finished with 22 assists and 12 digs while Mendick chipped in with 21 assists and six aces.
Eng scooped 17 digs and freshman
Paige Anania (East Brunswick/East Brunswick) snagged a career-high 12 digs for the Ospreys. After dropping a tight first set 28-26, Louer and De La Torre notched five kills apiece in the second stanza as Stockton evened the match 25-20.
Balanced offense was the key in the third set as four kills by De La Torre and three apiece from Green, Louer and Rolle propelled Stockton to a narrow 27-25 win. The Ospreys dominated the fourth set 25-13 behind six kills by Green.
Stockton returns to action on Tuesday for an NJAC match at William Paterson that begins at 7 p.m.
