Towson, Md. – Stockton University was one of eight teams to play in the Goucher Invitational tournament. The Ospreys competed in all four singles flights and both doubles brackets.
Audrey van Schalkwyk (Haddon Hts./Paul VI) finished as the runner-up in Singles flight D. van Schalkwyk won with a 4-0, 4-0 shutout in the first round and followed with a 7-5, 6-0 triumph in the semifinals before falling 6-4, 6-3 in the final.
In Singles Flight B,
Sarb Devi (Galloway/Absegami) started with a 4-1, 4-2 win in the first round but suffered a 7-6, 6-1 setback in the semifinals.
Brynn Bowman (Ocean City/Ocean City) and freshman
Carlee Cristella (Mantua/Clearview) opened play in the Doubles A flight with a 4-0, 4-0 shutout in the first round. The duo was eliminated 6-0, 6-1 in the semifinals.
Jenna Bryszewski (Westville/Gateway) won a consolation match in Singles flight D in a super-tiebreaker 6-3, 2-6, 10-7.
Stockton has one more match scheduled for the fall semester, The Ospreys are slated to face Baruch College at the National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y. on October 23 at 11:30 a.m.
