Kayla Kass (Bayonne/County Prep) was selected NJAC Rookie of the Week.
Barkley collected her second NJAC Runner of the Week honor of the season after finishing seventh out of 170 competitors in the NCAA Metro Regional at DeSales University on Saturday. The sophomore ran a time of 23:27 for six kilometers and was the top NJAC finisher in the race.
With the performance, Barkley became just the third Osprey female in school history and first since Alicia Belko in 2017 to qualify for the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships, which will be held in Lansing, Mich. this Saturday.
Barkley also qualified for USTFCCCA All-Region recognition from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. She added the All-Region accolade to an NJAC First Team nod earlier this fall.
Kass was selected NJAC Rookie of the Week for the fourth time during her outstanding freshman year. She joined Barkley as a USTFCCCA All-Region runner by finishing 16th at the NCAA Regionals with a time of 24:05. Kass was named NJAC Rookie of the Year and NJAC First Team earlier in the season.
Barkley and Kass led Stockton to its best finish ever at an NCAA Regional meet as the Ospreys placed third out of 24 teams over the weekend.
