Doylestown, Pa. – Stockton University (4-0) outscored Delaware Valley (1-3) 29-11 in the fourth quarter to erase a nine-point deficit and win 70-61. The victory gave Stockton its first 4-0 start to a season since 2017-18.
Madison LaRosa (Oceanport/Shore Regional) went 5-8 from three-point range and scored a team-high 19 points. LaRosa exploded for 17 points in the second half, 11 of which came in the fourth quarter.
Adriyana Jennings (Camden/Winslow Twp.) notched her second straight double-double with 18 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.
Emma Morrone (Maywood/Hackensack) contributed 13 points, a game-high nine steals, seven rebounds and four assists.
Stockton was doubled 14-7 in the first quarter and trailed 18-7 early in the second stanza. The Ospreys closed the gap to three points and went into halftime down 28-25 after a Morrone layup ended the first-half scoring.
The Aggies bulit the margin up to 12 points at 50-38 in the third period. LaRosa sank a three-pointer with 13 seconds left that made it 50-41 and served as a springboard to a dominant fourth quarter.
Stockton completed the comeback with another LaRosa three-pointer that put the Ospreys ahead 57-56 with 5:30 remaining, and they continued to surge, increasing the lead to 65-57. Delaware Valley sank consecutive layups to get within 65-61 with 56 seconds left, but
Imene Fathi (Wildwood/Wildwood) hit three free throws and LaRosa drained two to seal the 70-61 win.
Haley Keenan paced Delaware Valley with a game-high 24 points and Maisie Neuber tossed in 16 markers.
Stockton will open NJAC play with a home game against Rowan University on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
