Galloway, N.J. – Five Stockton University women's soccer players received NJAC all-conference honors for the 2022 season. Seniors
Sydney Williams (Millville/Millville) and
Riley Finnegan (Pennington/Hopewell Valley) and sophomore
Sophia Drea (Medford/Shawnee) were voted NJAC Second Team.
Sophomores
Emily Hauck (Lebanon, Pa./Northern Lebanon) and
Erica Dietz (Allentown, Pa./Central Catholic) were selected NJAC Honorable Mention. Williams earned her fourth all-conference nod while Drea and Hauck collected honors for the second straight season. Finnegan and Dietz were named all-conference for the first time.
Williams started all 21 games this season, leading the team with four assists to go with four goals for 12 points. The midfielder tied for the team lead in game-winning goals (2) and finished second on the Ospreys in points plus tied for second in goals.
Williams tallied 20 goals and 17 assists for 57 points as an Osprey. She started all 72 games in which she appeared in a Stockton uniform. Williams was NJAC First Team (2020-21) and NJAC Second Team (2019, 2022) twice each during her career.
Finnegan played in all 21 games and started 20 matches. The senior was outstanding in controlling the ball in the middle of the pitch, and she scored two goals and one assist for five points. Finnegan tallied the first game-winning goal of her career in a 1-0 victory over William Paterson on October 8.
Finnegan earned an all-conference spot after overcoming injuries that halted her freshman season at Rowan University after just five games and caused her to miss all of last season. Overall, she played in 22 games for Stockton with 21 starts and totaled two goals and one assist for five points.
Drea was honored with her second consecutive NJAC Second Team nod for her strong defensive play this season. The back, who has started all 43 games in her career including all 21 this year, helped the Ospreys post eight shutouts and a 1.29 goals against average. Drea also contributed one goal and three assists for five points at the offensive end.
Hauck was selected NJAC Honorable Mention for the second straight year. The midfielder scored three goals and dished two assists for eight points while starting all 21 games. Hauck recorded her first career multi-goal game with a pair of markers against Rutgers-Camden on October 19. Like Drea, Hauck has started all 43 games in her two years as an Osprey.
Dietz earned her first career all-conference honor after leading Stockton in scoring with 13 points on a team-high five goals plus three assists while starting all 21 games. The forward netted two game-winning goals to tie Williams for the team lead in that category.
