Mahwah, NJ – Stockton University (6-1, 2-1 NJAC) endured torrid shooting by host Ramapo College (4-3, 1-2 NJAC) and came away with a 76-72 victory on Saturday afternoon.
DJ Campbell (Vineland/Vineland) topped all players with 27 points on the day.

The Ospreys jumped out early on the home team, leading by as many as 10 at 26-26 at the 8:53 mark of the first half. A pair of three balls by Campbell and
Martin Anguelov (Cape May/Wildwood Catholic) helped the visitors gain the margin.

Ramapo would answer by finishing the half on a 17-7 run to knot the contest at 33-33 at the break.

The Roadrunners sprinted out quickly to start the final 20 minutes with a 14-6 run to take a 47-39 lead at 13:14 of the half. Ramapo shot 5-9 (55.6%) to just 11.1 % (1-9) for Stockton to help spur the run.

Stockton would slowly get back into the contest closing to within one at 55-54 with a little over eight minutes remaining. A three pointer by Campbell and a basket by
Milo De Los Santos (Pennington/Hopewell Valley) scored for the Ospreys.

Stockton took a 66-61 lead on a 12-6 spurt led by three points each by
Rynell Lawrence (Millville/Millville),
Kadian Dawkins (Eastampton/Rancocas Valley) and Campbell. But a three-point basket by Anthony Corbo would knot the game for the last time at 66-66 with 4:13 remaining in regulation.

The Ospreys would extend the margin to 71-68 before
Kyion Flanders (Wildwood/Wildwood) would make five of six foul shots in the final 17 seconds to offset a pair of baskets by Ramapo to capture the 76-72 victory.

Campbell also led all players with five steals, with Flanders and Anguelov chipping in with 13 and 11 points respectively.
Jamar Johnson (Penns Grove/Penns Grove) tied Flanders for team high with a career best six rebounds.

All five Ramapo starters scored in double figures and were led by Anthony Corbo with 20 points and a game-high nine rebounds. Jordan Myers added 13 markers with Shane Rooney and Peter Gorman scoring 11 points each.

Justin Bladen rounded out the quintet with 10 points as the team shot 54.9% (28-51), including 60% in the second half.

Stockton will return home for the next two games, starting with Rutgers-Newark on Wednesday night. Game time is 7:30 at the Stockton Sports Center.
