Stockton Falls to Brockport

Auburndale, FL –Stockton University (6-5-1) fell behind early and dropped a 11-0 decision to Brockport (7-2) on Thursday morning. The Ospreys were limited to just five hits in the game that was shortened to seven innings due to the run rule.

The Golden Eagles plated a run in the first inning, then exploded for five more markers in the bottom of the second inning.  The five hit inning included a three-run homer from Jake Sisto and gave Brockport a 6-0 lead.

Two more runs in the fourth inning made it 8-0 and chased Osprey starter Phil DeMarco (Ocean Twp./Ocean Twp.). The Golden Eagles tacked on a single run in the fifth and another pair in the bottom of the seventh for the 11-0 win.

Thomas Elgrim (Fair Haven/Rumson-Fair Haven) and Tucker Elder (Ewing/Ewing) smacked doubles among the five safeties.

DeMarco tossed four innings, walking two and striking out a pair in suffering the loss. He was followed on the hill by freshmen Bobby Leete (Wall/Wall), Ryan Halasa (Delanco/Doane Academy) and Josh Petrone (Bordentown/Notre Dame). Halasa and Petrone saw action in their first collegiate game this year.

The Ospreys will finish up their Florida trip with a pair of games tomorrow. Stockton will face North Park University at 1pm, then follow that up with a match against University of Wisconsin-Superior at 4:0 pm. Both games will be in Auburndale, FL.
