Galloway, N.J. – The Stockton University women's and men's rowing programs will host the Stockton-Brigantine Boat Race at the Brigantine Rowing Club boathouse on April 2-3. Time trials will begin at 5 p.m. on April 2 and racing will start at 8 a.m. on April 3.
"The Stockton-Brigantine Boat Race is a unique event where all teams will get to race three times over two days," said Stockton head women's rowing coach
John Bancheri. "Moving the race to Brigantine this spring is an exciting opportunity to bring the Stockton University and Brigantine communities together."
Teams scheduled to compete include Stockton University, United States Military Academy (Army), Bryn Mawr College, Catholic University of America, Franklin & Marshall College and Johnson & Wales University.
The teams will race on a 2,000-meter course in the water behind Bayshore Avenue, with the starting line near the Brigantine Lighthouse and finish line by the Brigantine Yacht Club. The regatta will be the first hosted by the Stockton rowing programs since they relocated to the Brigantine Rowing Club this spring.
Viewing and spectator areas for the regatta include any street end on the bay from Lighthouse Circle to 10th Street South, City Dock at 26th Street, and the Brigantine Yacht Club at 10th Street and Bayshore Avenue. The boathouse area is for student athletes, coaches, and officials only.
