Lakewood, N.J. – Stockton University opened the spring portion of its schedule by competing in the two-day Arcadia Spring Kickoff at Eagle Ridge Golf Club. With a team score of 924, the Ospreys finished third out of three teams behind Arcadia (743) and Ursinus (861).
Freshman
Ella van Schalkwyk (Haddon Hts./Paul VI) was the top finisher for the Ospreys, placing 11th out of 25 golfers with a total of 206. After shooting a 107 in the first round, van Schalkwyk improved to a 99, the second-best round of her career, on day two.
Maggie Brennan (Spring Lake Hts./Manansquan) shot 125-104-229 for 13th place followed by
Brynn Bowman (Ocean City/Ocean City) in 16th position as she followed up a 132 with a 107 for a total of 239.
Tamara Farrow (Cape May Court House/Middle Twp.) rounded out the four scorers for Stockton with a 132-118-250 for 19th place. Newcomer
Lexi Hughes (Galloway/Absegami) finished 23rd with round of 154 and 151 for a score of 305 in her first college tournament.
Stockton will play again on Monday as the Ospreys compete in the Arcadia Spring Invite at Cedarbrook Country Club in Blue Bell, Pa.
