Stockton Balanced Scoring Downs Cairn

Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (10-2, 4-0 CSAC) scored over 20 goals for the second straight game, as the Ospreys downed Cairn (1-8, 1-2) 26-1 on Wednesday night. Luc Swedlund (Randolph/Randolph) led Stockton with five goals on the night, as 15 players hit the net for the home squad.

Swedlund scored three times with Brendan McHale (Montville/Montville) hitting the net twice in a nine goal first period for the Ospreys. Stockton tacked on six more in the second stanza for a commanding 15-0 halftime margin.

From there every available player for Stockton saw action in the game. Freshman Evan Deans (Olney, MD/James Hubert Burke) scored his first two career goals, while fellow frosh Anthony Ferreira (Clark/Arthur L. Jonson) dished his first pair of career assists. Another rookie, Daniel Amores (West Caldwell/James Caldwell) also scored his first career point with a helper.

Patrick Dunleavy (Medford/Bishop Eustace) scored his first career hat trick, with Dante Poli (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks South) adding two goals and three assists for five points on the evening.

All three Stockton face-off men were outstanding, with Tyler Horvath (Chalfont, PA/Central Bucks South), Matt Thermann (Spring Lake Heights/Manasquan) and Lucas Novack (Rockaway/Morris Hills) combining to win 29-31 face-off for a tremendous .935 winning percentage. Horvath led all players with 12 ground balls.

Stockton goalkeeper Eric Lindskog (Montville/Montville) played the first 21:21 of the game , before being replaced by freshman Matt Rotola (Randolph/Randolph), who saw action for 20:25. Colin Bernstein (Warrington, PA/Central Bucks South) finished up and made the only save of the night for the Osprey netminders.

Charles Cotton tallied the lone goal of the night for the Highlanders  

Stockton will play the first of four consecutive road games to finish the regular season, when the Ospreys will travel to Glenside, PA to take on Arcadia on Friday night. Game time is set for 7 pm.
