Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University collected three all-conference honors and qualified for three academic accolades from the Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference. All six rowers received MARC postseason accolades for the first time in their careers.
Senior
Emily Culmone (Absecon/Ocean City) was selected All-MARC First Team and junior
Carrie Alpin (North Hanover/Northern Burlington) was chosen All-MARC Second Team. Freshman
Nicole Iatarola (Sewell/Washington Twp.) was an All-MARC Novice selection. Novice honors are reserved for rowers in their first year of competition at the collegiate level.
Emily Latshaw (Toms River/TR South),
Kelley Mason (Manhattan, N.Y./St. Vincent Ferrer) and
Madelynn Schina (Somerdale/Highland) qualified for the MARC Academic All-Conference Team. The requirement is a grade point average of 3.50 or higher.
Alpin, Culmone and Iatarola have been mainstays for the Stockton varsity eight throughout the year, highlighted by spots in the V8 at the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta in October and Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference Championships last Sunday.
In addition to their roles in the varsity eight, Alpin and Culmone also rowed in the varsity four twice during the fall while Iatarola has made one appearance each in the Stockton varsity four B, second varsity eight and novice eight during her rookie year.
The Ospreys will compete at the famous Dad Vail Regatta, the largest collegiate regatta in North America, on the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia on May 13-14.
