Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University freshman
Thomas Trimble (Emerson/Emerson) was named NJAC Offensive Player of the Week in men's soccer for the week of September 5-11. The rookie earned his first career weekly honor from the New Jersey Athletic Conference.
Trimble paced the Ospreys to a 2-0-1 week with a team-high three goals, including game-winners in both victories. The freshman scored his first two career goals in a 5-0 victory over Stevenson on Saturday. The markers came just over 11 minutes apart and staked Stockton to a 2-0 lead in the first half.
Trimble then backed that up with the lone goal in a 1-0 victory over Whitman College (Wash.) on Sunday. The freshman took a long lead pass, got behind the defense and floated a shot into the upper left corner just 16:29 into the game for his third goal of the week.
Trimble has played in each of Stockton's first six games and started the last two for the 4-1-1 Ospreys. His three goals last week vaulted him into the team scoring lead. The Ospreys, who are unbeaten in four straight matches (3-0-1), will face Neumann University at home on Wednesday before traveling to Centenary on Sunday afternoon.
