Elizabethtown, PA – Stockton University (4-2) captured their third straight victory with a convincing 4-2 win over Elizabethtown College (3-3) on Saturday afternoon. Alexandria Palumbo (Mantua/Clearview) led the visitors with a goal and assist on the day.

The Ospreys and the Blue Jays started slowly as the match was scoreless after one period. Stockton turned up the pressure in the second period, squeezing off eight shots to just one for the home squad. With 2:49 gone in the frame, Palumbo backhanded her second goal of the season into the cage for a 1-0 lead.

With 44 seconds left before half, freshman Elizabeth Rafferty (Morrisville, PA/Pennsbury) scored her first collegiate goal to make it 2-0. Palumbo fed the rookie a pass at the right post and Rafferty tapped it in for the score.

The home team got on the scoreboard at 5:15 of the third period to slice the margin to 2-1, but 3:25 later, Madison Maguire (Swedesboro/Kingsway) scored her third goal of the season for the second two-goal margin of the contest. Maguire fired a shot in front that was blocked, then potted the rebound for the score.

Stockton secured the game in the 48th minute when Jenna Fiorito (East Greenville, PA/Upper Perkiomen) scored on a penalty stroke for the 4-2 margin. Her third tally of the season gave the Ospreys a two-goal edge that put the game away.
