Stockton Splits Tri-Match with Arcadia and Drew

Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (7-6, 1-1 NJAC) took on a pair of opponents in a tri-match on Saturday afternoon, downing Arcadia (10-3) by a 3-1 score (27-25, 21-25, 25-14, 25-23), before dropping a four-set match against Drew University (8-4) by the same 3-1 final. The scores were 25-21, 21-25, 25-17 and 25-23 in favor of the Rangers.
 
In the first match, Haley Green (Springville, UT/Maple Mountain) led the squad with 18 kills. Freshman Camille De La Torre (Lancaster, PA/Hempfield) added 13 kills for a new career-high, with Emma Capriglione (Tuckerton/Pinelands) chipping in with 10 spikes and three blocks.
 
Green led all players with seven kills in the first set, with Capriglione leading the charge with five in the deciding fourth set, as the Ospreys gave head coach Allison Walker her 399th career victory at Stockton.
 
Aubrey Rentzel (York, PA/Central York) dished a team-high 30 assists, with Regan Mendick (Newark, DE/Red Lion Christian) chipping in with 18 helpers. Molly Eng (New Providence/New Providence) led all players with 21 digs, with freshman Kate Louer (Clifton/Clifton) scooping 13 digs.
 
Teleyah Witherspoon (Hackensack/Hackensack) and Krista Blassman (Marlton/Cherokee) tied for game-high honors with four blocks each.
 
Against Drew, Green again topped the squad with 18 kills as the only Osprey to reach double figures. The senior had six kills in both the first and fourth sets. Louer set a new career-high with 19 digs, with Eng leading the team with 22 scoops, the fourth time this season she has eclipsed the 20-dig mark.
 
Rentzel posted a double-double with 11 assists and 13 digs, while Mendick led the team with 14 assists and served three aces. Witherspoon added six more blocks to her total on the day.
 
Stockton will return to NJAC play on Tuesday when the Ospreys will host Montclair State. Game time is scheduled for 7pm.
