Salem, Va. – Stockton University (2-1) shut out Ithaca College (0-1-1) 2-0 to earn a split of its two games at the Roanoke College Invitational. Junior Owen Kitch (Medford/St. Augustine Prep) and freshman Aiden Hoenisch (Bordentown/Notre Dame) each score their first career goal.
 
A pair of defenders combined to score the first goal for the Ospreys, which came with 6:39 remaining in the first half. Kitch netted his first college goal and fellow back James McCombs (Brick/Brick Memorial) earned his first career point with the assist.
 
Hoenisch gave Stockton some breathing room with his first career tally, unassisted with 21:01 left in the match and the Ospreys went on to the 2-0 triumph.
 
Stockton goalkeeper Liam Brett (Palmyra/Palmyra) made four saves for his second shutout in three starts this season. Ithaca topped the Ospreys 11-7 in shot attempts, with each team registering four shots on goal.
 
After starting the season with three straight road games, Stockton will play its home opener on Wednesday when the Ospreys host Misericordia University at the Stockton Turf Field on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
