Wayne, NJ – Stockton University (10-10, 5-8 NJAC) saw their brief two-game win streak snapped in a 60-41 loss to William Paterson University (12-8, 7-6 NJAC) on Saturday afternoon.Â
Madison LaRosa (Oceanport/Shore Regional) led the Ospreys with 12 points on the day.

Stockton jumped out to an early 10-2 lead to start the game as five different players scored, led by
Imene Fathi (Wildwood/Wildwood) with four markers. The home team answered in a big way ripping off the final 11 points of the period over a span of 5:46 to take a 13-10 advantage at the end of one quarter.

LaRosa ended the Pioneers' run scoring the first five points of the second frame to give the Ospreys a 15-13 lead. The Pioneers (18.8%) and Ospreys (20.0%) both struggled from the field during the second quarter.

After a
Madison Dulude (Washington Twp./Sewell) layup gave Stockton a 17-15 margin, William Paterson again closed the stanza on another run, this time 9-2 over the final 4:15, to re-take the lead at 24-19 at the break. LaRosa led all scorers with seven points at the half.

The Ospreys continued to have issues from the field shooting 2-15 (15.4%) in the third frame, although the visitors got a spark from
Brianna Robinson (Cape May Court House/Middle Twp.). The freshman tallied five of the 11 points scored by Stockton, though the Pioneers were able to extend their lead to 39-30 to start the fourth quarter.

After shooting 62.5% (5-8) in the third quarter, the Pioneers kept up the pressure scoring the first eight points of the frame to extend the lead to 47-30 before Dulude snapped the run with a bucket at the 7:41 mark.

That was as close as the Ospreys would come, as the Pioneers outscored Stockton 36-22 over the final two periods in the game.
LaRosa also led the Ospreys with a pair of steals on the day, with Dulude adding nine points and six rebounds.
Emma Morrone (Maywood/Hackensack) topped all players with seven rebounds.

Yakira Rosa led the Pioneers with 13 points and five rebounds. Brianna Smith scored 10 points and dished a game-high four assists. Victoria Palladino and Renee Wells pilfered four steals each as William Paterson forced 28 Stockton turnovers in the game.

Stockton will take on Rutgers-Newark on Wednesday night for their next game on the road. Tip-off in Newark, NJ is set for 6:00 pm.
