Jersey City, NJ – Stockton University (7-1-7, 1-1-4 NJAC) fought to a 1-1 tie against New Jersey City (5-5-4, 1-2-3 NJAC) on Saturday afternoon.
Sophia Drea (Medford/Shawnee) scored her first goal of the season for the Osprey marker. With the draw, Stockton has equaled the school record for ties in a season at seven set in 2015.
Drea got the Ospreys on the board at 39:51 of the first half when she took a pass from
Emily Hauck (Lebanon, PA/Northern Lebanon) for her first marker of the year. It was the fourth assist of the year for Hauck.
The match would remain at 1-0 in favor of Stockton until the 85th minute. After a foul was called on the Ospreys in the box, Nyrohah Alvarenga converted the penalty kick to even the match at a goal each. That would be all the scoring in the 1-1 tie.
Megan Brady (Rockaway/Morris Knolls) kicked out six shots in the match for Stockton in net.
Stockton will return home to face Rutgers-Camden on Wednesday afternoon for their next match. Game time is set for 5pm.
