Owings Mills, Md. – Stockton University (11-8) split its two contests in a tri-match at Stevenson University. The Ospreys topped Lebanon Valley (11-7) 3-1 but then fell to host Stevenson (15-4) 3-0.
Kate Louer (Clifton/Clifton) led Stockton past Leb Val with a team-high 13 kills plus nine digs.
Rileigh Wilson (Milton, Del./Cape Henlopen) spiked 10 kills.
Aubrey Rentzel (York, Pa./Central York) and
Regan Mendick (Newark, Del./Red Lion Christian) dealt 26 and 20 assists respectively.
McKenna Ritchie (Newark, Del./Newark Charter) chipped in with match highs of 19 digs and four aces while
Ashley Carkhuff (Hackettstown/Hackettstown) added 13 digs and nine kills.
Stockton used a 4-1 run to rally from a 26-25 deficit for a 29-27 win in a lengthy first set. The second frame also went long, with the Ospreys improbably fending off four consecutive set points with a 7-0 run including two aces by Ritchie to prevail 26-24.
The third set went to Lebanon Valley 25-15, but Stockton jumped out to a 7-1 lead in the fourth stanza and stayed in front to clinch the victory 25-18.
Nicole Palmer (East Islip, N.Y./East Islip) paced Stockton with nine kills followed by Wilson with eight kills versus Stevenson. Rentzel and Mendick dished 13 assists apiece, with Rentzel also recording nine digs and four aces. Ritchie topped the Ospreys with 11 digs. The set scores were 25-10, 25-23, 25-20 in favor of the Mustangs.
Stockton returns home to host unbeaten Ramapo (12-0) in a key NJAC match on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
