Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University junior
Allie Palumbo (Mantua/Clearview) was voted to the NFHCA All-America Third Team by the
National Field Hockey Coaches Association. With the selection, Palumbo became the first All-American in the 21-year history of the Stockton field hockey program.
The All-American honor, which went to 48 NCAA Division III players, tops an impressive list of 2023 accolades for Palumbo that is comprised of NFHCA Region IV First Team, NJAC First Team, All-ECAC Team and two NJAC Offensive Player of the Week awards. Two weeks ago, Palumbo became Stockton's first three-time NFCHA all-region player.
Palumbo tied for the NJAC lead in game-winning goals (4) and tied for second in assists (11) as well as finishing third in the league in points (37) plus fourth in goals (13). The forward equaled the school record for assists in a season and recorded the third highest point total in program history.
Palumbo started all 20 games for the Ospreys and registered at least one point in 11 contests as the top point producer for a Stockton team that tied the school record for victories in a season and finished with a 15-5 record. Her offensive explosion was highlighted by a six-point game (2 G, 2 A) versus Eastern University on September 9 and three five-point games.
Palumbo moved into second in Stockton history with 29 career goals and fourth with 71 career points. She needs just four points in her senior season next fall to assume second place on Stockton's career scoring list.
