Reading, Pa. – Stockton University (7-5) returned to action after two weeks off and dominated Cortland (N.Y.) (4-4) 77-51 in the first round of the Doubletree Holiday Tournament at Albright College. Interior scoring was key as the Ospreys netted 42 points in the paint.

EJ Matthews-Spratley (Cherry Hill/CH East) made an impressive Stockton debut with a game-high 19 points to lead four Ospreys in double figures. Matthews-Spratley, who played at Scranton the last year-and-a-half, shot 6-9 from the field and 5-6 at the line.
DJ Campbell (Vineland/Vineland) totaled 15 points and six rebounds plus team highs of four assists and three blocks.
Martin Anguelov (Cape May/Wildwood Catholic) chipped in with 12 points and a season-high seven rebounds.
Jalen Collins (Blackwood/Triton) went 5-6 from the floor for 10 points. Stockton owned the boards 47-32, highlighted by 15 offensive rebounds that led to 19 second chance points.
The Ospreys shook off some early rust with a 29-4 run that turned a 9-1 deficit into a commanding 30-13 lead. Matthews-Spratley led the charge with 10 points and
Christian Armstrong-Thomas (Marlton/Cherokee) scored six of his nine points.
The lead was 36-20 at the half behind 11 markers by Matthews-Spratley, nine from Armstrong-Thomas and eight by Anguelov.
Stockton then shot 51.7% (15-29) in the second half and led by at least 12 and as much as 27 during the period as they cruised to the 77-51 rout. Campbell poured in 13 points in the second half followed by Matthews-Spratley and Collins with eight apiece.
Jaylen Warmack and Kendall Arcuri each scored 14 points for Cortland, with Arcuri also grabbing a team-high seven rebounds as well.
Stockton will play either Albright or Neumann in the championship game of the Doubletree Holiday Tournament tomorrow at 4:00 p.m.
