Stockton Extends Win Streak with 78-61 Victory

Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (20-3, 14-2 NJAC) exploded in the second half and pulled away for a 78-61 win over The College of New Jersey (8-15, 7-9 NJAC) on Wednesday night. Martin Anguelov (Cape May/Wildwood Catholic) topped four Ospreys in double figures with a game-high 21 points.
 
The Lions took control of the first half with a 12-0 run to take a 24-10 lead with 10:47 left, before Stockton responded. A pair of three pointers by Anguelov spurred a 13-3 run to close within 27-24 at the 6:44 mark. TCNJ tried to pull away, but the Ospreys kept close as the teams went to the break with the visitors holding a slim 36-35 advantage.
 
Kyion Flanders (Wildwood/Wildwood) and Anguelov led the team scoring 11 ad 10 points respectively during the first 20 minutes of play.
 
Stockton broke open the game with a massive 19-2 run in just under five minutes to grab a 59-44 lead with 12:36 remaining in the game. Seven markers by DJ Campbell (Vineland/Vineland), four by Kadian Dawkins (Eastampton/Rancocas Valley) and threes by Anguelov and Flanders pushed the home team to the big lead.
 
Stockton kept up the pressure, leading by as many as 20 points before settling for the 78-61 victory and extending their winning streak to six straight games.
 
Anguelov hit all five of his three pointers in his 21-point game, on his way to a 7-10 (70.0%) shooting night. Campbell added 20 points and tied his career best with 12 rebounds to lead all players. Flanders and Dawkins chipped in with 16 and 12 points respectively, with Flanders pilfering three steals and Dawkins dishing five helpers.
 
TCNJ was led by Danny Bodine with 17 points with Anthony DiCaro adding 13 points and a game-high six assists.
 
Stockton will play their final regular season home game on Saturday, when New Jersey City will visit Galloway. Game time is scheduled for 3 pm.
