Dallas, Pa. – Stockton University (7-1) extended its winning streak to seven games with an 18-8 victory in a road game at Misericordia University (2-4). With the triumph, the Ospreys tied the longest winning streak in the program's 10-year history, which happened in 2016 and 2017.
Freshman
Aubrey Giordano (Mt. Olive/Mt. Olive) tied her career highs with seven goals and one assist for eight points.
Mary McLaughlin (Somers Point/Mainland) scored four goals and snagged a team-high six draw controls.
Isabella Marinello (West Caldwell/Caldwell) contributed three goals and one assist while
Lexie Jackson (Barnegat/Barnegat) tallied two goals and three draw controls.
Drew Coxson (Chatham/Chatham) led the defense with five caused turnovers and three ground balls.
Stockton reeled off seven goals in the first 10 minutes of the game for a commanding 7-0 lead. McLaughlin and Marinello sparked the run with two goals apiece followed by one each from Jackson, Giordano and
Lilly Alessandro (Jenkintown, Pa./Abington).
Already leading 7-1, the Ospreys extended the lead to 11-1 on consecutive markers by Marinello, McLaughlin, Giordano and Jackson in the second quarter. Stockton led 12-3 at the half and 15-6 after each team scored three times in the third period.
Giordano potted all three Osprey goals in the fourth quarter as Stockton rolled to its seventh straight win, 18-8.
Goalkeeper
Jordan Hawkes (Egg Harbor Twp./EHT) made three saves in the first half and
Daniela Elliott (Wayne/Wayne Valley) notched four saves in the second half. Michaelle Torzilli netted five goals for Misericordia. Lena Conway recorded 12 stops for the Cougars.
Stockton will be on the road again on Wednesday for a 4 p.m. game at Arcadia University.
