Galloway, N.J. – The Stockton University varsity eight was named MARC Crew of the Week by the Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference for its performance at the Knecht Cup last weekend. At the regatta, the Ospreys won the gold medal in the Women's Varsity Eight-DIII for the first time since 1999.
The rowers were

Amber Hartzell (Merchantville/Haddon Hts.),
Megan Baldwin (Brigantine/Holy Spirit),
Madelynn Schina (Somerdale/Highland),
Marissa Martinelli (Burlington/Burlington Twp.),
Ashley Timm (Egg Harbor Twp./EHT),
Gabriella Bates (Manahawkin/Southern) and
Izabelle DelRoss (Egg Harbor City/Cedar Creek).
Lorelei Hendricks (Burlington/Doane Academy) was the coxswain for the varsity eight. Stockton won with a time of 7:30.85 that was a dominant 21 seconds ahead of runner-up Bryn Mawr. A day earlier, the Ospreys qualified with the fastest time, 7:35.53, and they knocked five seconds off that mark in the final.
Stockton, which is ranked second in the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Region, was chosen MARC Crew of the Week for the second time this spring. The Ospreys also received the award after winning their heat at the Manhattan College Invite on March 25.
Stockton will compete in the Upper Schuylkill Challenge on April 22 as its final tuneup before the Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference Championships in Fairfax Station, Virginia on April 30.
