Galloway, N.J. – This week, the NJAC selected two more Stockton University athletes for weekly honors. Freshman
Kevin Novobilsky (Ocean Twp./Ocean) was selected as the baseball NJAC Rookie of the Week and
Jenna Crampton (High Bridge/Vorhees) was chosen as softball's NJAC Rookie Pitcher of the Week for the week of April 17-23.
Upcoming star Novobilsky hit safely in four of the five games last week, earning a batting average of .650 (13-20), with six runs and three RBI. He also compiled his career high in hits with five against TCNJ on April 21.
Novobilsky currently leads his team with a batting average of .392, accompanied by 58 hits, 38 runs, 37 RBI, and six home runs for the season so far. His impressive season stats also put him on the leaderboard for all NJAC baseball teams where he is sixth for home runs, seventh in hits, eighth in runs scored, and ninth in RBI.
Stockton baseball is back on the field four more times this week, playing Rowan University back-to-back on April 27 and 28 and Rutgers-Newark on April 29 for the final regular season doubleheader before the NJAC Tournament next week.
Sophomore
Jenna Crampton had an incredible week pitching for the Ospreys. With a combined twelve innings pitched in games against Rowan and William Paterson, she managed to strike out ten players without allowing a single earned run, giving her an outstanding 0.00 ERA for the week.
In game two of the William Paterson doubleheader, Crampton pitched her second career shutout and guided her team to the 3-0 win, allowing them to take the sweep over the Pioneers.
Stockton softball will finish NJAC play with a doubleheader at Montclair State tomorrow before competing in the NJAC Tournament on May 6 and 9.
