Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University (12-8, 1-1 NJAC) hosted Ramapo (12-7, 1-1) for the second consecutive day but was unable to achieve the same result as the Ospreys fell 8-0 one day after winning 9-2. The defeat snapped Stockton's four-game winning streak.
Four Ospreys stroked one single apiece, with
Antonio Gatti (Howell/Howell) stealing a base to go along with his safety.
Tucker Elder (Ewing/Ewing) registered a hit for the fourth straight game.
Ramapo jumped out in front with two unearned runs in the top of the first. The Roadrunners scored once each in the second and fifth innings to make it 4-0. Four counters in the seventh frame, including a three-run homer by Justin Garthaffner, set the final at 8-0.
Stockton used four pitchers in the game, with
Niko Logothetis (Wyckoff/Ramapo) tossing 2.2 scoreless innings out of the bullpen with two hits allowed and two strikeouts. Jack Martin earned the win by pitching six shutout innings for Ramapo.
Cooper Fiore (Pottstown, Pa./Pottsgrove) walked once to add to a reached-base streak that is up to 11 games and
Robbie Ford (Green Twp./Newton) drew two walks to boost his reached-base streak to eight games.
Stockton will be back on the field tomorrow for a non-conference game at Penn State Abington that begins at 3:30 p.m.
