Stockton Falls 2-0 to #16 Rowan in NJAC Tournament

Glassboro, N.J. – Stockton University (19-19) fell by a 2-0 score to Rowan University (36-4) in the Ospreys' second game of the NJAC Tournament. With the defeat, Stockton was eliminated from the conference tourney. The Ospreys were the No. 4 seed while Rowan was the No. 1 seed and ranked 16th in Division III by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association

Charli Czaczkowski (Jackson/Jackson Memorial) rapped two hits, including a double, to cap an outstanding season at the plate in which she led the team with a .361 batting average and 44 hits to go with 21 RBI, 16 runs, nine doubles and four homers.

Stockton pitcher Nerina Tramp (Blackwood/Highland) continued her solid work on the mound, allowing just two runs on five hits with four strikeouts and three walks. The four whiffs brought Tramp to the 100-strikeout mark for the season. She was the winning pitcher in 11 of Stockton's 19 victories.

Tramp held the Profs hitless through the first 3.1 innings and scoreless until the fifth frame when Rowan scored twice for the only runs in the contest. Czaczkowski singled in the first inning and doubled in the fourth frame but was stranded both times.

Walks to Tramp and Ava Kinkler (Northfield/Mainland) put runners on first and second with one out in the fifth stanza but the Ospreys were unable to capitalize. A single by Regan Mendick (Newark, Del./Red Lion Christian) in the sixth inning was Stockton's third hit of the 2-0 setback.

Payton McNair delivered the only two runs of the game with a two-RBI double and Rylee Lutz pitched a three-hit shutout for the Profs.

Stockton finished the season with 19 wins, led by a pair of sophomores who earned NJAC all-conference recognition. Tramp established herself as one of the top pitchers in the league on the way to an NJAC First Team nod while Czaczkowski collected an NJAC Second Team spot after a season that included a 15-game hitting streak and 11 multi-hit games.
