Haverford, Pa. – Stockton University (2-2) evened its record at the Haverford Invitational with a pair of victories on day two. The Ospreys outlasted Augsburg University (Minn.) 3-2 and then topped Lebanon Valley 3-1. Freshman
Nicole Palmer (East Islip, NY/East Islip) was chosen to the All-Tournament Team.
Palmer continued her strong start with a team-high 20 kills against Augsburg.
Teleyah Witherspoon (Hackensack/Hackensack) contributed 11 kills and a career-high nine blocks.
McKenna Ritchie (Newark, Del./Newark Charter) led the back row with 14 digs and
Ashley Carkhuff (Hackettstown/Hackettstown) tallied 12 digs plus nine kills.
Regan Mendick (Newark, Del./Red Lion Christian) dealt 27 assists and served a match-high five aces.
Aubrey Rentzel (York, Pa./Central York) handed out 22 assists for the Ospreys. Stockton won the first set 25-21 but dropped the next two. The Ospreys stayed alive 25-19 in the fourth set. They used a 9-2 run to break the fifth set open and win 15-12.
Stockton won the first two sets 25-21, 25-17 versus Lebanon Valley. After falling 25-21 in the third set, the Ospreys closed out the match 25-21.
Kate Louer (Clifton/Clifton) paced Stockton with 12 kills followed by Palmer and
Camille De La Torre (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) with nine apiece.
Rentzel and Mendick distributed 21 and 18 assists respectively. Mendick also scooped nine digs and served three aces. Ritchie led the Ospreys with 13 digs.
Stockton will be on the road on Wednesday for a match at Muhlenberg College beginning at 7:00 pm.
