10/14/2024 2:20:00 PM

Galloway, N.J. – Two Stockton University sophomores were selected for NJAC honors for the week of October 7-13. Nicole Palmer (East Islip, N.Y./East Islip) was named NJAC Player of the Week for women's volleyball and fellow soph Brady Bartletta (Hainesport/Rancocas Valley) was chosen NJAC Defensive Player of the Week for men's soccer.

Palmer collected her fourth weekly award this year while Bartletta picked up his first NJAC Defensive Player of the Week nod this season and second in his career.

Palmer continued her outstanding second season in a Stockton uniform by filling the stat sheet in three matches last week. The right-side hitter totaled 26 kills, 10 digs, six aces, which led the team, five blocks and a stellar .489 hitting percentage.

Palmer started the week with a 14-kill effort and three aces plus a .619 hitting percentage in a sweep of Kean. Palmer added 12 more kills combined against #3 Johns Hopkins and Muhlenberg, with three aces and four blocks against the Mules.

Palmer, the NJAC Player of the Year a year ago, ranks second in the league in hitting percentage (.307) and points (4.49/set) while placing third in kills (3.58/set) and fourth in aces (0.56/set).

Bartletta posted a pair of shutouts last week, giving him three on the season. The reigning NJAC Rookie of the Year made five saves against Widener and another four stops against Rutgers-Camden. The sophomore has not allowed a goal in his last 311:17 of game action, and he ranks third in the NJAC with a 1.08 goals against average.

Stockton Volleyball (13-4, 3-1 NJAC) will visit William Paterson for an NJAC match on Tuesday night and head to New York City on Saturday for a tri-match against Mount Saint Vincent and #23 NYU.

Stockton Men's Soccer (5-4-4, 2-1-1 NJAC) will take a three-game winning streak and four-game unbeaten streak (3-0-1) into a home match versus #19 Rowan University on Wednesday night and then travel to Ramapo College on Saturday for another conference game.
