Stockton Splits Tri-Match at Stevens

Hoboken, N.J. – Stockton University (17-7) split a pair of four-set matches at Stevens on Saturday. The Ospreys fell to the host Ducks (21-6) 3-1 but responded with a 3-1 victory over Skidmore College (11-14).
 
Against Stevens, Nicole Palmer (East Islip, N.Y./East Islip) and Kate Louer (Clifton/Clifton) notched double-doubles. Palmer tallied 13 kills and 12 digs plus nine assists, narrowly missing a triple-double. She also added five aces and four blocks.
 
Louer compiled 11 kills and 12 digs while Camille De La Torre (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) also reached double figures in kills with 10. Regan Mendick (Newark, Del./Red Lion Christian) handed out 21 assists and McKenna Ritchie (Newark, Del./Newark Charter) contributed seven digs and five aces.
 
The sets were close, with three of the four decided by two points. Stockton took the opener 25-23 before the Ducks prevailed in the next three 27-25, 25-17, 25-23.
 
Palmer smacked a match-high 19 kills and recorded a .459 hitting percentage in the win over Skidmore. Louer posted her second double-double of the day with 12 kills and a season-high 15 digs. Mendick dealt 29 assists, tying her second-highest total of the season.
 
The Ospreys captured the first two sets 25-22 and 25-17. Skidmore avoided the sweep 25-23 in the third frame, but Stockton dominated the fourth set 25-14 to seal the victory.
 
Stockton will play their last NJAC match of the season on Tuesday when the Ospreys visit Ramapo for a 7:00 p.m. contest.
