Stockton Falls to Albright

Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (3-2) could not withstand a fourth quarter rush by Albright College (3-2) and fell 69-64 on Saturday afternoon. Grace Speer (Estell Manor/ACIT) led the Ospreys with 17 points on the day.

Stockton took an early 15-11 lead after one period as Katie Rausch (South Brunswick/South Brunswick) scored seven of the markers in the frame. The Lions rebounded with an 18-13 second period to forge a 29-28 lead at the break.

The Ospreys were able to retake the lead at 46-45 after three quarters, with Speer and freshman Aiyonna Alexander (Sicklerville/Winslow Twp.) scoring four points each in the period.

Albright took the lead for good on a three-point basket by CJ Apistar with 8:18 left in regulation. Freshman BrookeLyn Graham (Paulsboro/Paulsboro) made one of two foul shots to closer the gap to 51-50 at the 7:30 mark, but that was as close as Stockton would come, as Albright outscored Stockton 18-14 the rest of the way in the 69-64 loss.

Rausch was the only other Osprey in double figures with 12 points, while Alexander topped the squad with a career-high six rebounds.

Mackenzie Dover led three Lions in double figures with 14 points, followed by teammates Orianna Edmond with 12 and Apistar with 10 markers. Gigi Serrano led all players with eight rebounds.

Stockton will begin NJAC play on Tuesday night when the Ospreys host Kean University. Game time is scheduled for 5:30 pm on Gerry Matthews Court.
