Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (1-0) opened up the 2024-25 season with a wire-to-wire victory over Brooklyn College (0-1) by a 56-42 score on Saturday afternoon.
Lauren Winant (Middletown/Middletown South) and
Imene Fathi (Wildwood/Wildwood) both registered their first career double-doubles to lead the Ospreys.

After the Bulldogs scored the first basket of the game, Stockton reeled off 15 of the next 21 points to forge a 15-8 lead after one period of play. Winant tallied six of her career-high and game-high 18 points to top the squad.

Winant kept up the pace in the second quarter scoring six more points and grabbing six boards as the Ospreys stretched the margin to 28-18 at the break. The contest slowed a bit in the third frame, but the home team was able to push the lead to 39-25 after three.

The Bulldogs closed to within 10 at 50-40 with 1:52 remaining in regulation, but Fathi was able to ice the game with six points from the charity stripe to seal the 56-42 victory.

Winant tallied 18 points and 10 rebounds, while Fathi scored 12 points and also grabbed 10 boards.
Grace Speer (Estell Manor/ACIT) added 12 markers and pulled down nine rebounds as Stockton held a 53-39 advantage in the rebounding department, with 17 coming off the offensive glass.

Alina Estrella led the Bulldogs with 11 points, with teammate Danae McMullen pulling down a game-high 11 rebounds.

Stockton will face Gallaudet at home for their next game. The match is scheduled for Wednesday night at 6pm.
