Arlington, Va. – Stockton University (4-0) erased an early four-goal deficit and used a dominant second half to defeat host Marymount University (1-1) 18-7 for its fourth straight win to begin the season. The Ospreys broke the game open by outscoring Marymount 10-0 in the third quarter.
Mary Meduri (Brigantine/OLMA) scored a game-high five goals and dealt one assist for six points.
Lucy Sullivan (Lafayette Hill, Pa./Plymouth Whitemarsh) tallied a game-high seven points on three goals and four assists.
Mary McLaughlin (Somers Point/Mainland) contributed four goals and an assist followed by
Anissa Serafine (Tabernacle/OLMA) with three goals.
Stockton trailed 5-1 early in the second quarter before springing to life. The Ospreys started the comeback with three straight goals to get within 5-4 at the half. They then took control of the game with a 10-0 third period. Serafine led the charge with three goals while Meduri and Sullivan netted two markers apiece.
Stockton led 14-5 after three and doubled the Saints 4-2 in the fourth quarter to close out their fourth straight win, 18-7.
Drew Coxson (Lancaster, Pa./Chatham) paced the defense with game highs of six ground balls and five caused turnovers.
Bailey Gehler and Arayla Garcia potted two goals apiece for Marymount. Goalkeeper Hannah Smith made 12 saves for the Saints.
Stockton returns home to host Alvernia on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
