Flushing, N.Y. – Stockton University (5-3) was edged 5-4 by undefeated Pratt Institute (10-0) in a match played at the USTA National Tennis Center, site of the annual U.S. Open tournament. Stockton won one match in doubles and the teams split the six singles matches.
 
Carlee Cristella (Mantua/Clearview) and Jamie Theophall (Egg Harbor Twp./EHT) earned the lone doubles point with a narrow 8-7 (7-2) triumph in a tiebreaker at No. 2 doubles.
 
Cristella prevailed 6-1, 4-6, 1-0 (10-7) in a super-tiebreaker at No. 3 singles while Theophall notched a 7-6 (7-2), 7-6 (7-5) victory by winning a pair of tiebreakers at No. 5 singles. Gabrielle Alexandre (Woodbridge/Mother Seton) captured a 6-2, 7-5 win at No. 6 singles for the Ospreys.
 
Stockton will start the final week of the regular season with an NJAC match at Ramapo College on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m.
