Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University (3-2, 1-1 NJAC) fell to NJAC women's tennis powerhouse The College of New Jersey (10-1, 3-0 NJAC) 9-0 in the first home match of the spring for the Ospreys. TCNJ has won or shared every NJAC title since women's tennis became a conference sport in 1982.
Sophia Pasquale (Galloway/Holy Spirit) nearly earned a team point at No. 1 singles as she split sets before falling a in close tiebreaker for a final score of 3-6, 6-1, 10-8.
Gabrielle Alexandre (Woodbridge/Mother Seton) won three games in a 6-2, 6-1 setback at No. 6 singles.
Pasquale and
Kierstyn Fenimore (Tabernacle/Seneca) played a close match at No. 1 doubles, but the duo came up short in an 8-5 contest.
Stockton's next match will be at Neumann University on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m.
