Stockton Knocked Out of NJAC Tournament by Rowan

Glassboro, N.J. – Stockton University (14-3) dueled evenly with Rowan University (8-10) into the third quarter before a five-goal run proved decisive, resulting in a 13-8 setback in the NJAC Tournament semifinals. The Ospreys were the No. 3 seed and Rowan was the No. 2 seed.
 
Brianna Robinson (Cape May CH/Middle Twp.) and Mary Meduri (Brigantine/OLMA) scored two goals apiece. Meduri brought her school-record total to 59 goals on the season. Lilly Alessandro (Jenkintown, Pa./Abington) chipped in with one goal, a game-high four ground balls and one draw control.
 
Stockton fell behind 3-1 but tied the game on goals by Anissa Serafine (Tabernacle/OLMA) and Robinson. A pair of markers by the Profs in the last four minutes of the second quarter made it 5-3 at the half.
 
Madison MacGillivray (Forked River/Lacey Twp.) and Meduri scored 59 seconds apart to pull the Ospreys even again at 5-5 early in the third quarter. The game turned as Rowan netted five straight goals in the last eight minutes of the period for a 10-5 count after three.
 
Robinson, Alessandro and Meduri each scored once in the fourth quarter, but the Profs also tallied three markers and Stockton never got closer than four in the final frame of the 13-8 defeat.
 
Stockton goalkeeper Daniela Elliott (Wayne/Wayne Valley) made seven saves in the game. Calista Burke (3 G, 4 A) and Elaina Corson (5 G) paced the Rowan offense while Profs' goalie Mel Rodgers finished with eight stops.
 
The program's 11th season was a record-setting campaign in which the Ospreys set new marks for wins (14), winning percentage (.824), goals (245), assists (100), points (345), draw controls (219), caused turnovers (207) and ground balls (358).
