Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (2-4-3, 0-1-0 NJAC) opened NJAC play on a sour note, falling to William Paterson University (7-0-3, 1-0-0 NJAC) by a 2-1 score on Saturday afternoon.
Aidan Pereira (Spotswood/Spotswood) scored the lone goal for the Ospreys, as all the tallies came in the first half.

The Pioneers opened the scoring at 20:35 for a 1-0 lead. Just under seven minutes later, Pereira took a pass from
Thomas Trimble (Emerson/Emerson) and curled in his first goal of the season to the upper left corner to knot the contest at 1-1.

William Paterson scored the eventual game winner in the 34th minute on a header for the 2-1 lead at the break.

The Ospreys had four opportunities in the second half but could not convert. At 64:43
Emanuel Valentin (Kearny/Kearny) ripped a shot that clanged off the cross bar and stayed in. In the final nine minutes,
Joseph Carbone (Pequannock/Pequannock) sailed a volley over the cross bar, then
Chris Krall (Bordentown/Florence Twp.) had his attempt stopped.

Carbone fired one last attempt with 39 seconds left but it also missed high, and the Pioneers came away with the 2-1 victory
